Fallon County Commission schedules March meetings focused on infrastructure and public services

The Fallon County Commission has released its agenda for the week of March 9-13, 2026. The meetings are scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. each day and will include a variety of updates and discussions on county operations.

The agenda includes time for public comment on both agenda and non-agenda items. Chamber updates will be provided by Alissa Miller, Executive Director, and Jade Boggs from The Insurance Store. Road maintenance and shop reports will be presented by Bryan Batchelor, Road Superintendent, along with Carl Overland or Mitch Overn.

Golf course operations will be discussed with Nathan Kalbach, Golf Course Superintendent. Project updates are scheduled with Shannon Hewson from Brosz Engineering, including the awarding of the 6th Street box culvert bid.

A discussion regarding the county’s contribution to Fallon Medical Complex health insurance is set with Deputy Clerk & Recorder Debbie Wyrick, CEO David Espeland, and CFO Marjorie Losing. Desiree Thielen, Planner & DES Coordinator, will lead a session about sharing addresses with the state and the Address Management System (AMS).

County Attorney Darcy Wassman will hold a work session that covers Port Authority Board members and other ongoing matters. A closed session may occur if needed concerning Thielen litigation.

Library services updates will be given by Beth Meggers, Director of Library Services. The commission work session includes approval of previous meeting minutes and several executive decisions such as election cancellations, health insurance proposals, agreements for public health services like vaccines for children, dental and vision renewal rates through MACo, maintenance agreements, reimbursement agreements for conference registration fees, school health service provisions, deeds for Plevna Rural Fire District commissioners, as well as routine department reports.

Another session for public comment is scheduled in addition to a presentation from Great West Engineering by Stephanie Wilke and Jeff Frank regarding landfill operations.

Meetings throughout the week include periods for recess before adjourning.
