The Madison County Sheriff’s Office would like to take a moment to update and introduce everyone to the deputies and leadership who serve the residents and visitors to Madison County.

25-2 Acting Sheriff, Craig Schroder, Coroner, serving since December 2009

25-3 Deputy Chris Tenny, prior experience with Missoula PD, serving since January 2007

25-4 Sergeant Wes Heavrin, Coroner, Field Training Officer, firearms instructor, serving since November 2014

25-5 Sergeant Alec Winn, Coroner, Field Training Officer, firearms instructor, United States Marine Corps, serving since September 2016

25-6 Deputy Austin Marsh, Coroner, training as firearms instructor, United States Marine Corps, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, serving since May 2020

25-7 Captain Duncan Hedges, Coroner, Detention Officer, 21 years law enforcement experience in Idaho, 15 with Idaho State Police, 4 years Prairie County, MT Sheriff, serving since July 2021

25-8 Deputy Doug Young, Coroner, serving since December 2003

25-9 Deputy Christopher Sturgill, 21 years Montana Army National Guard, serving since January 2017

25-10 Deputy Dan Wyatt, 20 years Nampa, ID PD, prior military experience, serving since August 2022

25-12 Deputy Leah Cox, Coroner, Field Training Officer, prior Detention and Communications Officer, serving since March 2017

25-13 Deputy Jackson Goodman, Coroner, Field Training Officer, Defensive Tactics instructor, serving since September 2019

25-14 Deputy Timothy Jurgonski, Search and Rescue Coordinator, Madison Valley Volunteer Firefighter, serving since July 2020

25-15 Deputy Tyler Mursch, training as K9 Officer and firearms instructor, United States Army experience, 3 years Montana Motor Carrier Services and 2 years City of Portland Police Bureau, serving since May 2021

25-16 Deputy Trever Dowton, evidence technician, 13 years combined in Idaho and Wyoming Sheriff’s Offices, serving since September 2021

All of our Deputies who take on additional responsibilities and duties such as field training, search and rescue, receive no additional compensation, with the exception of Coroner who do receive compensation for those responses.
