**Smoke Conditions Update**

We have received inquiries regarding the smokey conditions around Richland County the past few days.

Currently there are no fires burning in Richland County.

The smoke we are all seeing is from the large amount of fires burning on the Western side of MT and Idaho currently. Due to dry conditions, fires have been increasing in number and intensity and will continue to do so into the Fall.

Winds from the west are bringing this heavy smoke across MT and well into ND.

We advise those with any respiratory or breathing condition to consider wearing a mask or filter when outdoors. Outdoor activities may become an irritant on our breathing if this heavy smoke continues or worsens.

Please reach out to the DES Office for any inquiries or reports.

Be safe out there.
