U.S. Senator Steve Daines visited Israel and met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Tel Aviv. During his visit, Daines also attended the unveiling of the Pilgrim’s Road at the City of David National Park alongside U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Daines expressed his support for Israel during the trip. “It was an honor and privilege to travel to Israel this weekend and convey my support to Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Israeli people. As we approach the two-year anniversary of the worst terrorist attack in Israel’s history, it’s important to remember that there will not be peace in Israel or Gaza until Hamas is eradicated and every single hostage is returned. The United States must stand with Israel,” he said.

Daines also commented on attending the archaeological event: “It was also an honor to attend the unveiling ceremony of the Pilgrim’s Road, one of the most important archaeological discoveries in the world. To see firsthand the steps that Jesus walked on and the Pool of Siloam where he healed the blind man was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
