Senator Steve Daines, a Republican representing Montana, recently addressed several issues in a series of posts on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
On September 9, 2025, Daines commented on the safety of abortion pills, writing, “Women are being told a lie- that the abortion pill is ‘safe as Tylenol.’ The fact is that 1 in 10 women experience adverse effects- 22 times higher than what the FDA label suggests.”
The following day, September 10, Daines turned attention to conservation efforts and national parks. He posted, “Our national parks are the crown jewels of America. Read my op-ed in Fox News with @SenAngusKing about how we can be the best stewards of our parks and lands:” and included a link to his editorial.
Also on September 10, Daines highlighted local engagement by sharing, “Great meeting with Montanans this morning at MT Coffee!”
Daines has served as Montana’s U.S. Senator since 2015 and is known for his positions on public land management and reproductive health policy. National discussions around abortion pill safety have intensified in recent years as lawmakers and medical professionals debate regulatory standards set by agencies such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Additionally, stewardship of national parks remains a bipartisan issue with lawmakers often collaborating across party lines to ensure their preservation for future generations.
