Senator Steve Daines, a Republican representing Montana in the U.S. Senate, recently shared updates on legislative initiatives and meetings through his official Twitter account.
On September 18, 2025, Daines highlighted the introduction of new legislation focused on stillbirth research and support for affected families. He stated, “Debbie’s story is inspiring, & she’s a pivotal reason why we intro’d the SHINE for Autumn Act today, a bill that will expand research & education surrounding stillbirths so we can save lives & support families across the nation who face this tragedy.”
Later that day, Daines acknowledged a meeting with local financial representatives by posting, “Great to have the MT Bankers in the office today!” on September 18.
The following day, on September 19, Daines addressed religious liberty issues in higher education. He wrote, “All Americans have the fundamental right to religious liberty. Proud to intro a bill that will protect religious liberty on college campuses & allow our students to live out their faith freely.”
Daines has previously advocated for legislation addressing public health concerns and civil liberties. The SHINE for Autumn Act referenced in his tweet aims to increase federal efforts related to stillbirth prevention and family support services.
