Senator Steve Daines, representing Montana, made several statements on his official X account in early October 2025 regarding U.S. foreign policy, mining projects in Montana, and ongoing government funding debates.
On October 2, 2025, Daines commented on the Biden administration’s efforts to resolve the Israel-Palestine conflict. He wrote, “.@POTUS’s peace deal is an incredible framework that will help bring an end to this conflict between Israel & Palestine, & Hamas should accept it.”
The following day, Daines highlighted a decision by the U.S. Forest Service (USFS) concerning mining development in Montana. In his post from October 3, he stated, “Today the @USFS approved the advancement of the Libby Exploration Project in Lincoln County, which will unlock world class copper & silver and create new MT jobs. Thank you @POTUS & @SecRollins for supporting MT miners!” The Libby Exploration Project is intended to expand mineral extraction in Lincoln County and is expected to contribute to job creation and economic growth within the state.
Later on October 3, Daines addressed federal budget negotiations and called for an end to what he described as a government shutdown led by Senate Democrats. He posted: “Senate Democrats should end the Schumer Shutdown because the American people are paying the price.” The term “Schumer Shutdown” refers to political disputes over government funding that can result in temporary halts of federal operations.
Senator Steve Daines has served as a prominent voice for Montana interests in Washington and frequently uses social media platforms to communicate policy positions and updates on legislative matters.
