Steve Daines, U.S. Senator representing Montana since 2015, shared his views on national policy and local engagement through a series of posts on December 18, 2025.

In response to the President’s recent address, Daines posted at 16:13 UTC: “My thoughts on @POTUS’s speech last night? He knocked it out of the ballpark. Promises made, promises kept.”

Later that day at 17:17 UTC, he highlighted his connection with Montana agriculture by stating: “Enjoyed meeting with the MT Farm Bureau today!”

At 19:06 UTC, Daines addressed health care reform in a post critical of previous Democratic policies: “Democrats ruined our health care system with Obamacare. The solution? Let the American people decide where their money goes and begin to root out waste, fraud and abuse within our health care system.”

Before entering politics, he held management positions at Procter & Gamble and served as an executive at a Bozeman-based software company. A fifth-generation Montanan who grew up in Bozeman attending public schools there, Daines earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Montana State University.

His work includes constituent services across multiple Montana offices as well as efforts recognized by awards for transparency and office practices from the Congressional Management Foundation (official website).
