Senator Steve Daines, representing Montana, posted a series of messages on September 18, 2025, highlighting military appreciation, international relations, and engagement with political organizations.
In his first post of the day, Daines acknowledged the anniversary of the U.S. Air Force: “Happy birthday @usairforce! MT is the proud home of Malmstrom AF Base, & we thank all of the airmen that make our Air Force the most powerful in the world.” This message recognized both Montana’s role as host to Malmstrom Air Force Base and expressed gratitude to service members.
Later that afternoon, Daines commented on U.S.-U.K. relations and global technology leadership: “.@POTUS is doing exactly the right thing: strengthening our relationship with the U.K. so we can counter the influence of China and keep America the global leader in technology.” His statement reflected ongoing concerns about technological competition with China and support for transatlantic alliances.
In a subsequent post, Daines thanked a policy organization for hosting him: “Thank you to the @RiponSociety for having me today- great to speak to this group of incredible leaders fighting for America’s founding principles of limited government.”
Senator Daines has represented Montana in the U.S. Senate since 2015. Malmstrom Air Force Base is one of three bases responsible for housing intercontinental ballistic missiles in the United States. The Ripon Society is a Republican public policy organization founded in 1962 that promotes ideas based on limited government and free enterprise. The emphasis on strengthening ties with the United Kingdom comes amid ongoing debates about how Western nations should respond to China’s expanding technological capabilities.
