Steve Daines, U.S. Senator representing Montana since 2015, highlighted recent legislative actions and praised local leaders in a series of posts on December 17, 2025.

On his official account, Daines announced the Senate’s decision regarding military compensation and base funding: “Today the Senate voted to give service members a pay raise and provide critical funding for Malmstrom AF base. Huge win for MT!” (December 17, 2025).

Later that day, he commended Kurt Alme and Customs and Border Protection: “Kurt Alme is a fantastic leader for MT, restoring law & order and keeping our cities safe. Great work by @CBP as well- thank you for defending our nation” (December 17, 2025).

Daines also shared a personal note about his relationship with Rep. Ryan Zinke: “.@RepRyanZinke and I go way back. Always fun to talk about MT memories!” (December 17, 2025).

According to his official website, Daines is a fifth-generation Montanan who grew up in Bozeman and earned a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering from Montana State University. Before entering politics, he held management positions at Procter & Gamble and worked as an executive at a Bozeman-based software firm. As senator, Daines serves on several committees including finance, foreign relations, energy and natural resources, and Indian affairs to influence policies affecting taxation, trade, public lands, and more.

He provides constituent services across Montana through offices located in cities such as Bozeman, Great Falls, Helena, Billings, Missoula, Kalispell, Sidney and Washington D.C., assisting residents with federal agencies and veterans resources. Daines has received awards from the Congressional Management Foundation recognizing transparency in office practices.
