Senator Steve Daines, a Republican representing Montana, posted a series of messages on his X (formerly Twitter) account between September 11 and 12, 2025. His posts covered topics ranging from U.S.-Israel relations to service academy nominations and federal court rulings on abortion funding.
On September 11, Daines reaffirmed his support for Israel in a post thanking the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). He wrote: “America will always stand with Israel. Thank you @AIPAC for all you do to strengthen our US-Israel alliance!”
Later that day, Daines highlighted his role in nominating Montana students to U.S. Service Academies. In his message, he stated: “As the son of a U.S. Marine, it’s one of my greatest privileges to nominate Montana students for the US Service Academies. If you’re interested, be sure to apply!”
On September 12, Daines commented on a recent federal court decision involving Planned Parenthood and abortion funding. He said: “This is good news. Very encouraging to see a federal court block Planned Parenthood’s attempt to use taxpayer dollars to fund abortion- which should never be allowed under any circumstance.”
Daines has consistently voiced strong support for the U.S.-Israel relationship throughout his tenure in Congress. The senator’s engagement with AIPAC aligns with ongoing bipartisan efforts in Congress aimed at maintaining robust security cooperation and diplomatic ties between the two countries.
His nomination process for Montana students reflects longstanding congressional tradition, where members of Congress are authorized to recommend candidates for appointment to military service academies—a pathway considered prestigious by many families across the nation.
The federal court ruling referenced by Daines comes amid continued national debate over abortion rights and government funding related to reproductive health services. Judicial decisions regarding such funding often spark significant political discussion due to their implications for both policy and public opinion.
