Senator Steve Daines, representing Montana in the U.S. Senate, shared a series of posts on September 15, 2025, reflecting on themes of legacy, faith, and his recent travels to Israel.
In one post from that day, Daines referenced the values embodied by Charlie: “Charlie stood for truth- that we are endowed by our Creator with unalienable rights. It’s our job to carry on his legacy of thoughtful, truthful dialogue.” (September 15, 2025).
Later the same day, Daines commented on a significant archaeological event: “The Pool of Siloam is an incredible archaeological discovery, & I’m thrilled to be able to attend the unveiling ceremony and stand where Jesus once stood.” (September 15, 2025). The Pool of Siloam is an ancient site in Jerusalem associated with biblical history and is believed to be the location where Jesus healed a blind man.
He also posted a summary of his visit: “Recap of my trip to Israel:” (September 15, 2025).
Daines has previously participated in international delegations and often highlights religious heritage sites during such trips. The Pool of Siloam has been undergoing excavations in recent years and its public unveiling represents a major moment for both archaeology and religious tourism.
