Steve Daines, U.S. Senator representing Montana, shared a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) addressing the passing of Charlie Kirk and commemorating the anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
On September 10, 2025, Daines expressed his condolences to Charlie Kirk’s family, stating, “Praying for Charlie Kirk & his family at this time.” Later that day, he expanded on his sentiments with another post: “Absolutely devastating news. Charlie Kirk was a friend, a loving husband, a father and fearless leader who inspired the next generation. Cindy and I grieve with his family in this profound loss.”
The following day, on September 11, 2025, Daines marked the anniversary of the terrorist attacks in the United States by writing: “This year on the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, we remember the 2,977 lives lost, including the 2 Montanans who were on American Airlines Flight 77 that crashed into the Pentagon. We will never forget.”
Charlie Kirk was a prominent conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA. The September 11 attacks in 2001 resulted in nearly three thousand deaths across New York City, Washington D.C., and Pennsylvania. Among those killed were two individuals from Montana who perished aboard American Airlines Flight 77 when it struck the Pentagon.
