Several speakers at the the 45th annual Economic Outlook Seminar series hail from Montana State University.
Several key topics will be discussed at the Bureau of Business & Economic Research (BBER) during the 45th annual Economic Outlook Seminar series.at the University of Montana.
The seminars, beginning Tuesday, will run from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
Each year, the series has featured a variety of experts from different industries who give detailed insights into Montana's economic landscape involving health care, forestry and agriculture. Other industries are also highlighted, including start-up businesses.
“Finding Good Workers: New Challenges, New Solutions" is the theme this year, said BBER officials, who will introduce speakers in series information posted online and send out to the public.
Among them: Katy Spence, communications director for the Montana High Tech Business Alliance; George Haynes, an agricultural policy specialist with the Department of Agricultural Economics and Economics at Montana State University; Norma Nickerson, director of the Institute for Tourism and Recreation Research; Kate Binzen Fuller, an assistant professor and extension specialist in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Economics at Montana State University; and Brandon Bridge, an economist and director of forecasting at the Bureau of Business and Economic Research at the University of Montana.
A former athlete, Haynes played basketball at an NAIA school before receiving his bachelor's in economics from the University of Montana. He earned his master's degree in agricultural economics from MSU and his doctorate in consumer economics from Cornell University. He s a tenured professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics and Economics and an extension specialist.
"These seminars have been a great opportunity to present information on the Montana agricultural industry to the Montana business community,” Haynes said in a statement.

- Feb. 11: Hilton Garden Inn, Kalispell
- March 17: MSU Northern, Havre
- March 18: Central Montana Education Center, Lewistown
- March 19: Lone Peak Cinema, Big Sky
