Montana Farm Bureau Federation wants agriculture entrepreneurs in the state to apply for the 2021 Ag Innovation Challenge, according to a news release.
“In light of the impacts Farm Bureau members are experiencing from COVID-19, solutions from entrepreneurs are needed more than ever to help farmers, ranchers, and rural communities,” American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) President Zippy Duvall said in the news release. “We’re very interested to see how entrepreneurs will use startup funds provided by the Challenge to help support farms and ranches and grow the rural economy.”
The American Farm Bureau Federation and Farm Credit have partnered to host the competition, which first occurred in 2015. The winner of the 2021 competition will be awarded $145,000 in startup funds from several sponsors, the news release states.
Only 10 companies will be selected to compete in the competition, which is in January, as semi-finalists. Each semi-finalist will be awarded $7,500.
Applications must be submitted by July 31, the news release states.
