The 89th Montana League of Cities and Towns Conference was held virtually this year, due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19.
Though the league's board took careful deliberation to reach the decision, they ultimately decided that virtual was the best way to go, according to a league press release.
Though the event was virtual, city attorneys were still able to receive credit for Continuing Legal Education (CLE), and city clerks were able to receive credits as well, according to the release.
One benefit of hosting the annual conference virtually was that content from the conference remains online, and members of the Montana League of Cities and Towns will still be able to access the content by logging in at the league’s website.
The conference still created opportunities for the types of meetings among representatives of different towns that normally take place during the conference, according to the release.
In addition, the conference featured nationally-recognized keynote speakers.
