Good Evening Prairie County.

Just an update on the weather directly from the weather service gurus.

The confidence is VERY HIGH and this should be taken seriously.

The storm that is on the way will arrive with snow showers starting Monday late afternoon to early evening and continuing on into the night. The snow will turn to heavy and wet starting Tuesday morning, with winds predicted NNW at 20mph with gust as high as 35mph. Expect 8″ of heavy wet snow. Please get everything prepped around the house for the possibility of being in the house for a couple days. Travel will be very risky if not impossible. Possibility of road closures is very likely. The storm will last until Thursday. Heavy wet snow could bring downed trees and power lines. Once again please be prepared.

I would like to repeat CONFIDENCE IS VERY HIGH on this storm. The weather service never calls us directly unless they believe what they are seeing as a pattern will affect us greatly.

If you have any questions please call the Sheriff’s Office at 635-5738.

If you are having an emergency please dial 911 immediately.

911 is the fastest way to get ahold of myself or the undersheriff.

thank you all and please be safe.
