Billings prepares to celebrate groundbreaking of two long-awaited projects
Wednesday, February 22, 2023 will be a groundbreaking day for Billings in more than one way.
At 10 a.m., there will be a groundbreaking for the Skyline Trail.
Anyone interested in attending can park along the rims on Highway 3, directly across from the Billings airport water tower.
The groundbreaking event will take place along the path past the gated area.
Then at 11 a.m., a groundbreaking for the Inner Belt Loop will take place near the intersection of Skyway Drive and Alkali Creek.

Also known as the Northwest Billings Connector, the Inner Belt Loop will complete construction from Alkali Creek and Skyway Drive to Highway 3 and Zimmerman Trail.
Both projects are possible in part by the BUILD grant, which was awarded to the City of Billings in September of 2020.
