City of Billings launches NEW Map Library with Improved Functionality and Ease of Navigation

Sure… Google maps may be impressive, but it can't do EVERYTHING.

You won't find garbage pickup routes, snow plowing progress, current road closures, public safety information, zoning, election districts, etc.

That's where our City map library steps in!

Our award-winning GIS team at the City of Billings works diligently with every department to gather data and make informed decisions using the latest technology. Helping residents navigate Billings and access information quickly and easily through our map library is a top priority.

To improve accessibility and aesthetics, we've given our library a makeover with unified colors and intuitive icons.

Everything is now organized into six categories: Public Interest, Planning, Transportation, Public Safety, Parks and Rec, and Public Works. These maps include smart tools to enhance the user experience.

Just to name a few, you can now use the Address Search Bar to zoom in on any location, whether with an address, intersection, or place of interest. Popup Windows provide more detailed information, while the Measure Tool lets you create linear and area measurements without leaving your desk. The Bookmarks feature allows you to save map locations for quick access in the future.

It's all part of our commitment to making mapping applications more accessible and user-friendly for you, Billings residents. So, come and explore our map library and see how we can help you navigate Billings like a pro!
