Billings Logan International Airport (BIL) is set to commence several eagerly awaited non-stop flights this week. As previously announced, Alaska Airlines will reinstate its daily non-stop service to Portland, with departures scheduled for 12:50 p.m. Allegiant Airlines will also initiate non-stop flights to Los Angeles on Thursdays and Sundays throughout the summer, with departures at 9:55 p.m.
The inaugural flights for both airlines are slated for Thursday, May 16, and will be greeted with a water cannon salute courtesy of the Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting Division. This expansion in flight services has been made possible through a collaborative effort between the City of Billings, BIL, the Tourism Business Improvement District, Visit Billings, the Billings Chamber of Commerce, and Big Sky Economic Development.
The Portland flights offered by Alaska Airlines will run seasonally until the end of the year. This marks a change from previous years when these services were only available for part of the year. Meanwhile, Allegiant's seasonal flights to Los Angeles represent a new service offering for Billings.
In addition to these new routes, United Airlines is preparing to launch five additional daily flights to Denver starting on May 26. This follows the introduction of four daily flights to Denver by the airline in March. American Airlines is also gearing up to begin its seasonal service to Chicago on June 5 which will continue through October.
Sun Country Airlines has announced plans to start two weekly flights to Minneapolis on June 19. Delta Airlines will also increase its service frequency by adding an extra flight to Minneapolis beginning in the first week of July.
