Residents of Billings can now plan their trips using MET Transit through Google Maps. By entering a starting point and destination, users receive detailed instructions on walking to the nearest bus stop, which route to take, and where to disembark. This feature aims to simplify navigation for both new and experienced riders.

Available on both the Google Maps mobile app and website, users need to follow these steps:

1. Enter your destination.

2. Click directions.

3. Select the bus icon.

4. Enter your starting point.

5. Choose travel directions based on “leave now,” “depart at,” “arrive by,” or “last available.”

6. Customize travel preferences with options like “best route,” “fewer transfers,” or “less walking.”

The platform also provides real-time updates on bus delays or on-time status once a destination is entered. Clicking on a bus stop in Google Maps reveals its ID and servicing routes.

MET Transit buses operate Monday through Friday from 5:45 a.m. to 8:15 p.m., and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., covering over 450 stops throughout Billings. All buses are wheelchair accessible and equipped with bike racks.

For more information about MET Transit, visit mettransit.com or call 406-657-8218.
