The Billings Public Library is set to launch its annual Summer Reading Program on June 4. This year’s theme, "Adventure Begins at Your Library," encourages readers of all ages to participate in various events, activities, and prize opportunities by logging their reading.
Children and families can look forward to story times, arts and crafts workshops, and hands-on activities. Featured events include the Big Machine Petting Zoo, Bike Rodeo, and programs from community partners such as Zoo Montana and Mustangs Baseball. A complete list of children’s summer programs is available at https://billingslibrary.org/446/Childrens-Reading-Programs.
Teens are invited to engage in workshops and special events designed to foster creativity and connection with peers. Activities range from craft clubs to gaming sessions. Information on teen programs can be found at https://billingslibrary.org/396/Teens.
Adults are also encouraged to join the Summer Reading Program with events tailored for them. These include book groups, artist presentations, skateboard clinics, MET Transit travel training, and other stimulating activities. The full schedule for adult programs is accessible at https://billingslibrary.org/397/Adults.
The Bike Library will make weekly stops at various locations in Billings and community events to host programs, distribute free books, and share information about library services. Notable weekly events include "Tour de Downtown" every Tuesday at 10 AM, "CRAFT Club" for teens every Tuesday at 2 PM at Pioneer Park, "Moms in Motion!" every Wednesday at 10:30 AM at North Park, "Community Connections" every Thursday at 11 AM, and "Stethoscopes & Stories" every Friday at 2 PM at the Children's Clinic Library Express Locker (3401 Ave E). "The Summer Reading Program is a fantastic opportunity to foster a love for reading and provide access to unique programs for all ages," said Kelsie Rubich, Assistant Library Director. "'Adventure Begins at Your Library' highlights our extensive range of programs and resources, encouraging everyone to connect, learn, and grow this summer.”
All programs are free and open to the public. The Billings Public Library extends thanks to its sponsors for their support. For more information or to sign up for the Summer Reading Program, visit the library's Summer Reading Program page.
